There are plenty to whom the crucial problems of their lives never get presented in terms that they can understand.

I am an experienced humanistic counsellor, relational psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, accredited registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and author of self help books. I have been practising for more than 25 years, both privately and within an organisational setting (international airline). I have therefore a wealth of experience of working with people from a variety of different cultures, countries, ethnicities and sexual identities.

My counselling training is rooted in the humanistic ‘person centred’ school and my psychotherapeutic training included the transpersonal and phenomenological approaches. I can therefore work with a wide variety of presenting life issues, helping clients to place them within a context of both personal meaning and increasing self awareness.

Having trained in a variety of settings, I work eclectically, offering a range of therapeutic interventions in order to help my clients better understand themselves, the world and their unique place within it.

Therapeutic Interventions:

Talking therapy, Hypnotherapy, Somatic (body and breath) work, Dream Analysis, Energy work, Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR), Acupressure, Massage, Creative visualisation, Art therapy.

Presenting issues I can help with:

Abuse, Anger management, Anxiety, Bereavement, Career, Cultural issues, Depression, Health related issues, Identity, Loss, Men’s issues, Mind/body connection, Personal development, Phobias, Post traumatic stress, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Smoking Cessation, Soul work, Spirituality, Stress, Trauma, Work related issues.

Clients I work with:

Adults, Young People, Groups, Organisations, Trainees.

How I offer therapy:

Online (via videoconferencing - Zoom, Facetime, Skype) or by telephone. Please note that I am only currently offering face to face work for hypnotherapy or bodywork based sessions. Ongoing counselling and psychotherapy work I offer online or via the telephone.

Research on videoconferencing counselling is positive, suggesting that it is effective for a wide range of issues and achieves similar clinical outcomes to traditional face-to-face psychotherapy. (Simpson, 2009; Backhaus et al. 2012). Both clients and therapists who have engaged in online therapies express similar satisfaction as those experiencing face-to-face (B.A.C.P. 2020).

One important difference with online videoconferencing and/or telephone work is that it is incumbent on the client to have a confidential space where they will not be disturbed for the duration of the sessions.

Location:

I am based in Pinner, NW London (Zone 5), equidistant between both Pinner (Metropolitan Line) and Eastcote (Piccadilly & Metropolitan Lines), each being a 15 minute walk from my practice or a short bus ride. There is plenty of free parking on site.

Your first session:

Reaching out and speaking with a counselling therapist for the first time can be daunting. That is why I offer an initial, without charge, ‘get-to-know-each-other’ session of 15 minutes online or via the telephone. During this time we can discuss your expectations of the therapy, briefly outline what you want to focus on, and have an opportunity to ask each other questions about how we would plan to work together.

Subsequent Sessions:

Once we have decided that we are happy to work together, and that you feel comfortable and ready to engage, my fees are £60 per therapy hour (50 mins). Please note that talking therapy, whether online or via the telephone, will be in single session time frames and any hypnotherapy work within double session time frames. My fee for each hypnotherapy hour is £70.

Payment can be made via paypal, bank transfer (ahead of each session) or made in person before each session commences for hypnotherapy work. Cancelled sessions within 24 hours, or unattended sessions, will incur the normal charge.

I am able to work flexibly in the afternoon and evenings 7 days a week. The optimum frequency of sessions is once per week, but this can be adjusted according to need and circumstance on a planned and mutually agreed basis.
